Why a Retreat for Men?
The last thing you need is another meeting to attend. We've had enough programs, and causes to support, and “expertly" expounded truths. We’re drowning in resources and books and gurus who tell us that if we only changed X, we’d get Y. Just try harder. Just do more.
Brother, by now you know that life does not quite work the way it says on the tin. There has got to be something more to the story, right?
Even if the echoes of the call you once felt have grown faint, you cannot deny that haunting you feel. The sense that some precious, eternal thing is gradually slipping through your fingers. What if the urgency in your heart is an awakening of the true you? A rallying cry for your unique story to be told?
Higher Ground is your invitation to come on an adventure with us. To unplug and go deep. Not to more content or another ra-ra session, but to a place of encounter where we can breathe the rarefied air our masculine soul longs for. A one-on-one in the veld with Jesus. Not some religious figure, or theological concept, but a person who has invited you into the most fulfilling and exhilarating experience available to humankind. A magnificent story, one that we, and you, were destined for from the beginning of time.

We followed steep paths up the crags and planted flags of courage, of commitment and rekindled trust. Carefully woven fig leaves were relinquished to the fire — garments fashioned over many decades to keep us safe (and make us look good). We cannot summon the lightning, or conjure the presence we so long for. But we can surrender, betting the whole farm on His love for us.
